My name is Mike Moore.  Owner/operator of Bayou City Bees Honey Company and Bee Removal Services.

My first experience working with honeybees came as a young child helping my father and his few hives that he had not just for the fresh honey, but for the enjoyment as well.  I later became experienced in the commercial beekeeping industry while I was traveling the country and found work as a migratory beekeeper in California, Arizona, and here in Texas.  I fell in love with the bees and the bee business.

People say I'm crazy, I know.  It's just something about working those fascinating creatures all the while out in the open country field.

In 1998, I traveled to Texas to visit a friend.  While I was here I thought about what working some Texas bees would be like.  I quickly found out that - just like The Lone Star State's slogan - you don't mess with Texas, their bees or their keepers.  Texas beekeepers are honest, hard-working, salt of the earth kind of people.  I knew right away that I was at home with these rugged, no bull individualists and so I quickly adopted Texas and their bees as my home and profession.

The following year, the beekeeper I was working for unfortunately took ill and was no longer able to work his bees or do bee removals, so I decided to throw my own hat in the ring and give this small business stuff a try.

I knew that in order to be successful, one must have standards beyond reproach, and provide customers with first and foremost a quality service at a reasonable price.  I reckon myself a friendly guy, so being courteous, polite, and honest certainly wouldn't hurt with customer relations.  I take great pride in holding myself and my employees to these standards.
